To host an au pair, there are legal requirements and our terms and conditions. Requirements include sufficient living space for the au pair, proof of financial stability, and a commitment to the cultural exchange aspect of the program. In addition, we expect host families to support the au pair in their language development and integration into Dutch society.

Legal requirements:
- Your family consists of at least 2 people.
- You meet the IND's income standard.
- You are legally residing in the Netherlands.
- You have no previous working relationship with the au pair.
- The au pair is not a relative up to the third degree.
- The au pair works a maximum of 30 hours per week.
- The au pair will have a private room at your address (min. 12m²) with internet and basic amenities.
- You bear the living expenses for the au pair.
- You will provide the au pair with pocket money between €300 - €340 per month.
- The au pair is at least 18 and maximum 25 years old at the time of application.
- The au pair is unmarried and has no (foster) children.
- The au pair has not previously had an exchange residence permit in the Netherlands.
- You and the au pair register with the Basic Registration of Persons (BRP) at your address.
- You and the au pair will make and sign a daily schedule for all 7 days of the week that includes at least the following:
- How many hours of light housework the au pair will do.
- Which 2 days in the week the au pair is free.
- Whoever does light housework in addition to the au pair. Another person should be named.
- The au pair does not do tasks for people who need more special care, requiring a specific skill.
Our conditions:
- You pay for the au pair's return ticket.
- You provide the au pair with a language course worth at least €385.
- You will provide the au pair with a phone subscription or prepaid card worth at least 10 euros per month phone card.
- You provide the au pair with a weekend public transportation card.
