I hope that this letter finds you well, and I am very excited about getting to know you. But, first, I would like to introduce myself to you. My name is Alliah Brozas Sacare, but my family and relatives call me "Yang". I am a 24 year-old girl from the city named Malabon in the Philippines. I am living with my 2 younger siblings, Alyssa and John Albert, aged 23 and 20, and our cat named "Mingming". My dad whose age is 45 is just living in the same neighborhood, and my grandma is just 10-15 steps away from our house. I came from a pretty large family, more than 20 cousins, and around 10 nieces and nephews. I graduated from college with a degree in Management Accounting. After that, I decided to take up Certificate in Teaching Program (24 Units in Professional Education), it's an Education Course because teaching kids is one of my childhood dreams. Then I also completed and got my TEFL and TEYL Certificate last year 2023. My mom died 3 months before I turn 5. From that day on, it completely changed me as a young kid. I became more mature than other kids my age. I was already taught of doing household chores like cleaning the house, washing clothes and dishes, and cooking food which I became fond of. It was quite challenging since my dad was always away for work, and grandma was also working that time in a factory of paper, so generally, I was the one to manage the household and taking care of my 2 younger siblings like preparing their food, getting them ready for school, dropping them off and picking them up from school, and etc. from Mondays to Saturdays. But, despite of those experiences, I am more thankful because it shaped me to what and who I am right now. Now that my 2 siblings are already adults, and busy with their studies and career path, I enjoy my time playing with my nieces (daughters of my cousin). I look after them, feed them, give them bath, getting them ready for school, playing with them, putting them to sleep, and listening to their random stories, treating them and loving them like my own kid. In my free time, I love listening to some pop, R&B, and acoustic soft rock music. Singing is also one of my hobbies. I started engaging myself again on reading good books which I used to do when I was younger. I also love to draw random things, sometimes paint if there are available materials. I also play chess because it helps me improve my tactical and analytical skills. Travelling also becomes my solitary time and escape zone in this bustling and intense world. At the top is baking and cooking, I love learning and experimenting new recipes I can use when making pastries and dishes. As I grew up, perspective and disposition about life have changed. I realized that life doesn't stop to what and where I am right now. That life has so many amazing things waiting for me to discover, only if I won't limit myself to experience all of those. I learned that as we embark on every chapter, we'll face lots of surprises and uncertainties along the way and that we should learn to embrace and celebrate those small steps we take and small wins we achieve with those people on our side in that journey. And with this, being part of this exchange program is an exciting opportunity for me to live with you as my international/foreign host family for a year. Helping with the kids which I really love, create positive impact to your family, while at the same time learning new things from you. It is also a great chance for me to better understand and experience different culture firsthand while also sharing mine. I hope that we can develop a good relationship, working and living together as a family. I would be more than happy to spend a wonderful year with you and your kids.
